Who Are We?
Machien Industry is a Taiwanese shoelaces and bias tapes manufacturer founded in 1994 under the name Ming-Chi Manufacturing. Two decades later in 2014, we have extended our service line to include products such as garment accessory laces, electronic cord covers, gift-wrapping cords, textile-made medical equipment, professional sports-use ropes, straps strings and etc. We also provide various textile refining processing services, including but not limited to plastic and metal lace-tipping services.
Machien Industry specializes in producing various types of footwear shoelaces, laces for clothing, lanyards, gift handbag straps, outdoor ropes, smartphone accessory straps, electrical wire/cord protective braids, and etc. Currently, we have at least 800 to 1,000 braiding machines in our factory manufacturing customized laces for our customers.
As our service offerings broaden, we are endowed with higher standards and more responsibilities. We carry on our all-time management philosophy of "honesty, tenacity, responsibility, and the courage to conquer impossibilities", striving to be the best for our customers.

How Do We Value Mother Earth?
As our customers may know, at Machien Industry, we hold a high standard toward how products are brought to our consumers. Despite there having scratches, oil stains, and shrinkage in the process of lace braiding, we expect all our customers to receive the best quality laces, meaning that quite many shoelaces will be dismissed during the inspections. You may wonder then where all the obsoletes go.
First and foremost, please allow us this opportunity to thank you. Thank you for being such a firm supporter and carer for our planet. For us, each lace we make is of equal value to a newborn baby. It is a creation not only of lifelong expertise but of days and nights of blood, toil, tears, and sweat. Rather than cruelly throwing them away, we cleanse them a bit and offer them a new look and a new style for use. For instance, some of the laces may be handed out to the local community and/or charity clubs when they need them for a special event. Some of them may be sold in very low prices to domestic farmers who need them as the binding straps for their crops. There are also those used by active campers and scouters on their regular crusades. Or, if there are still other left-behinds, we tie them to our shoes.

Where Are We Headed?
In this past ten years, due to the rise in the costs of labor, material costs, cross-border tariffs and many other factors, the traditional industries in Taiwan are growing smaller in size and number. Some of the bigger local businesses have relocated their firms in China, leaving Taiwan's rural areas deserted. We are concerned that, if this current continues, some of the world-leading techniques we have in manufacturing textile-based products will be lost and that the gaps between cities and towns will be increasingly widened, likely causing harms to the society in which job opportunities are limited and resources scarce.
Machien Industry comes from an old town where textile-related activities once ran popular. Seeing the coming challenges faced by community residents and industries, instead of being washed off by the globalization torrent, we decided to ride along the international tide while turning things the other way round.
